Affordability vs Excellence?

When it comes to child care, too many Berks County families must choose between affordability and excellence. Because of your generosity, this family has both — and appreciates its emphasis on learning and fun! The teachers and aides who care for our children are like family. I know they’re in good hands when they’re here.

Our children are 12, 8, 4, and 2, and for us, the Learning Center is a blessing. My husband and I both work full-time. So for the past six years, our routine with the kids has been the same: drop-off at 8 am, pick-up at 5:30. We love it, the kids love it, and we know they’re safe, in a state-licensed STAR 3 program that stresses creativity and learning. We pay for their care, but also receive tuition assistance, which is a big help. Our oldest two are in the before- and after-school programs, so they get breakfast before school and help with homework after. And they love summer camp. They go to sports camps, bowling, the movies —all the things kids should do in the summertime, with the support of people and organizations in the community who care.
