Katherine did an amazing job of getting the lunch, snacks, and drinks ready for our field trips during summer camp at the Second Street Learning Center. Katherine also maintained a report that documented the field trips each child attended throughout the summer. This is an essential part of our reporting process.
She is reliable and dependable. She’s willing to help in any classroom when needed and willing to stay late to ensure we have adequate staff to provide Keystone 4 Star quality daycare each day of the week.
More About Opportunity House
But we do more than just give shelter. We also help young minds at the Second Street Learning Center with our Keystone 4 Star quality early learning programs. Catering to infants as young as 6 weeks old up to children aged 13, our year-round center provides a comprehensive educational experience We believe in setting up kids for success, with after-school care, fun summer camps, and support for their feelings. This helps make a better future for the kids in our community.
We also care about the environment. With our Reuse and Recycle program, we’re proud to stop more than 1,000,000 pounds of waste from going into landfills. This shows how much we want to help. There’s also OppShop – a thrift store at 3045 N. 5th Street Highway in Muhlenberg. You can find used clothes for everyone in the family, plus furniture, things for the house, baking stuff, and small appliances. All of these things need a new home.
And guess what? When you buy things from OppShop, you’re helping us help others. The money we get goes right into programs that help homeless people, even veterans who don’t have a home in Berks County. So, when you take something home from OppShop, you’re making a change, helping things get better, and being part of a community that cares. Come join Opportunity House and let’s make stories better, build futures, and create a caring and hopeful community together.
Extend your hand to Opportunity House as we rewrite narratives, forge destinies, and weave a rich tapestry of care and hope for all.
