Opportunity House provides year-round emergency shelter for men, women, children, and veterans experiencing homelessness in Reading and Pottstown, Pennsylvania. We offer safe shelter, case management, and supportive services to help individuals move toward permanent, stable housing.

Emergency Shelter – Reading, PA

Our Reading emergency shelter is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is located at 430 North Second Street, Reading, PA. Each year, we serve approximately 500 men, women, and children who need a safe place to stay. Clients meet regularly with case managers to set goals and create housing plans. Emergency Shelter – Pottstown, PA

The Pottstown emergency shelter is located at the Days Inn in Pottstown and was created in response to the removal of a long-established homeless encampment. Community leaders and local funders partnered with Opportunity House to provide a safe, dignified place for individuals displaced by the closure. Today, the shelter serves more than 100 individuals who are rebuilding their lives after homelessness. Residents receive case management, goal-setting support, and connections to community resources that help remove barriers to permanent housing. Need shelter in Pottstown, PA?
