.  .  Opportunity House has been helping the homeless population of Berks County, PA, since 1984.  Each year we provide emergency shelter to nearly 500 men, women, infants, children, families, and Veterans who experience homelessness.  Our Second Street Learning Center offers Keystone 4 Star quality early learning for children from 6 months to 13 years old.  This vital resource allows parents to work or go to school to provide a more stable income for their family.

Our Reuse Recycle Program offers affordable items at our retail thrift store, OppShop.  Items that are unsalable are recycled reducing waste and diverting over 1,000,000 pounds from the landfill each year.

Thanks to the ongoing and generous support of our donors, Opportunity House continues to serve the most vulnerable in the greater Reading, PA area.
